West Space Rebranding

West Space is an artist’s found centre for contemporary art situated in the heart of Melbourne. Their programs support local and underrepresented artists throughout all stages of their careers. 

The brief was to create an identity system to replace their old logo – and to refresh and represent their values. I created a stencilled alphabet which would be used as their logotype and together form the basis of their identity. Stencilling the typography came from the idea of open-ended and space, both leading back to the gallery itself – a space of endless imagination for artists to exhibit their work. The extended lines at the end of the typography again suggests the on-going nature of the gallery space.
